Our journey started back in the early 1900’s when Art VanDeel laid the foundation of VanDeel Homes in Chicago, Illinois. Art set a high standard and instilled a sense of aesthetic appeal, integrity, and excellence at the core of the company’s philosophy.
Carrying on his father’s legacy, Roger VanDeel Sr. moved the company to Colorado in the early 1970s and expanded its services to Denver and Elizabeth, Colorado. His dutiful work painted a remarkable path for the next generation.
Roger “Duke” VanDeel has taken the reins of his father’s and grandfather’s well established residential construction company to the mountain counties of Colorado, bringing with him a fresh approach while staying true to the foundation of quality his father built with the focus on transparency and integrity. Duke has introduced new business practices that prioritize open communication with clients, ensuring they understand every step of the construction process his innovative ideas have expanded the companies capabilities, especially in the round of energy efficient building by incorporating these eco-friendly practices do not only help the environment, but also saves his homeowners money in the long run through this leadership. The company continues to grow blending tradition with forward thinking solutions.

A proud Colorado native, Michelle VanDeel grew up with a love for the scenic beauty and vibrant community spirit of her home state. Driven by her passions for family, fitness, and freedom, Michelle has been an integral part of VanDeel Construction since 2006. Working alongside her husband Roger, she adeptly juggles roles in home design, financial management, and permitting. Her meticulous eye for detail and sheer joy in witnessing the transformation of ideas into homeowners’ dream homes are what she values most in her multifaceted role within the family business.

Roger VanDeel’s roots run as deep as the Rocky Mountains he calls home. Born and raised in Colorado, Roger cherishes family time, whether it’s at the lake or savoring the freedom of the backcountry. Sharing the helm of VanDeel Construction with his wife Michelle, Roger brings a third-generation general contractor’s oversight and expertise to every project. His passion for detail ensures that each home built under his guidance is a testament to craftsmanship, ready to be cherished for generations.

Chris Fisher brings the rugged spirit of the Colorado landscape into every aspect of his work. A Buena Vista local, he knows that the state’s majestic outdoors is the perfect backdrop for raising his five children. With over 25 years of construction experience and a legacy as a third-generation carpenter, Chris is fuelled by the fresh challenges and excitement each new home build presents. For Chris, construction is much more than just a job—it’s a lifelong passion and a hobby that keeps him connected to his roots and community.
